Jennifer Im, Ph.D.
Dr. Im is a postdoctoral psychology fellow. She received her doctorate in School Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. She completed her clinical trainings at Astor Services for Children and Families, Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, Stonybrook University Consortium, Saddle Rock Elementary School, Brooklyn Academy High School, and the Dean Hope Center for Educational and Psychological Services. Additionally, Dr. Im was a pre-doctoral fellow at the Behavioral Sciences Training in Drug Abuse Research Program at New York University as well as a research assistant at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, where she received intensive training in substance use and dependence at both sites. Dr. Im has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults who struggle with socioemotional and behavioral difficulties, interpersonal challenges, academic problems, and related issues resulting in impairment in wellbeing. Dr. Im utilizes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Dr. Im is currently in the 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, led by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, and she has her 200-hour RYT yoga teaching certification.
